The CWAS/David Malin awards are held at the home of the Parkes 64 metre Radio telescope

During the evening the winners of the 2012 CWAS/David Malin Awards were announced.

Phil Hart taking out the top honor (overall and solar system wide-field),

with Martin Pugh (deep sky) Alex Cherney (wide field) Peter Ward (high-resolution) Trent McDougall (Symmetries) Nathan Coleman (Junior section) & Colin Legg (animation).

This entry (Transit of Venus in hydrogen-alpha) was titled "King of Pain"

For those not familiar with "The Police"

... the opening line of their song with the same title is: "There's a little black spot on the Sun today... "
