Snake River by night.
The image above is a composite of two exposures taken at the same location,
one tracking the stars, the other fixed to the earth.
The Teton Ranges are seen here from Snake River overlook
This view was captured , albeit during daylight, some 75 years earlier at the same location by American landsacpe photographer Ansell Adams.
Emulsion coated glass plates of the day would not have recorded much light after sunset.
His iconic film image has been encoded on 12-inch gold-plated copper disks containing sounds and images selected to portray the diversity of life and culture on Earth
The disks are on the Voyager Spacecraft.....now in interstellar space headed for the stars.
Ansell would have been so proud.
