M83 The southern pinwheel

According to NASA's APOD site

"Big, bright, and beautiful, spiral galaxy M83 lies a mere twelve million light-years away,

near the southeastern tip of the very long constellation Hydra.

Prominent spiral arms traced by dark dust lanes and blue star clusters lend this galaxy its popular name, The Southern Pinwheel."

Below: During the capture sequence, a Magnitude 18.5 space rock passed by.

According to TheSkyX, it is uncharted....

...not surprising given it's faint presence and swift relative motion through the sky.
