International Observe the moon Day Moon.

If you have an astronomical telescope the first thing you'd likely view or show anyone else is: the Moon.

Earth's only natural satellite is seen here through a vintage Questar 3.5" telescope
Questar's have been in continuous production for nearly 70 years, with none other than
Dr Wernher von Braun, chief architect of the Saturn V rocket  that propelled the Apollo missions to the Moon
also owning one of these optical gems.

The telescope was placed on a table-top and a Canon EOS-Ra camera
attached via a T-thread adapter.

The resulting un-cropped image seen here has minimal processing
and in doing so reflects the view seen by warm human eye being
treated to the view under steady skies.

With just the telescope and an eyepiece
the view may instill a sense of wonder...
by revealing details of our celestial neighbour
that are otherwise invisible to the naked eye.
