Stellar Proper motion in M42
The above "rollover" image shows a section of the Orion Nebua taken January, 2006 using the Hubble Space Telscope and ground based ESO telescope observations
The second (rollover) image taken in December 2018 with a Alluna Optics 0.4 meter RC telescope.
The images were registered with PixInsight with distortion correction.
The bight star located in the lower centre of this image however seems to "move" when switching between the images.
The movement is in fact real.
The image below is an astrometric solution of the 2018 RC16 data (the red rings show the astometric solution locations) using The SkyX software and
shows the Hipparcos satellite data proper motion of the star over a ten year period.
