Hybrid Solar Eclipse
Exmouth Western Australia 2023
Hybrid Solar Eclipses are rare.
They are visible from somewhere on the Earth about once per decade
and last for about 1 minute.
They also reveal atmospheric layers of our Sun that are deep within the solar chromosphere.
The Hybrid Eclipse seen here from Exmouth, in remote north Western Australia,
was a particularly
beautiful example of this fleeting and rare event.
Ruby & magenta coloured prominences, some arched or completely detached
adorn the bright inner solar corona's plasma
which distorts around them like iron fllings around a magnet.
The sight was simply breathtaking.
